Dont you just love your PS2? I mean if it were up to me, i would nominate it for a nobel prize. But thats just me talking. Yes, it has provided me with great entertainment value. It helps me to relax, vent out and chill the time away.
But sometimes it really frustrates me! Especially if its showing that "Disc Read Error". Argghh...

Two most common cause of PS2 "disc read error"
1) Lens Obstruction - this is probably the most common cause for disc read error to appear. Situations that there are dust in the lens, hardened dust that cant be easily blown and mal alignment of the lens. Such situations can cause the dreaded error to surface.
To fix the problem, you can start by blowing the lens. But if that doesnt work then you have to open it and clean it from the inside. BUT! theres a big but! dont try to do this without a manual. 2) Voltage problems - If cleaning the lens still doesnt work.Then theres a problem with your PS2's voltage. This is usually set in default to fit the average home. But due to some current surges in power lines, this can cause disruption thereby causing the PS2 voltage requirement to alter.
